Background & History:

Stuart Medical Centre is a solo general practice where patients enjoy the rare privilege of seeing the same doctor for all visits. The practice sees patients largely from the suburbs of Wulguru, Stuart and outlying areas such as Oak Valley, Woodstock, Calcium, Majors Creek and Giru, in addition to patients from all areas of Townsville. It is a friendly family practice which welcomes and treats all patients equally without discrimination of any sort. It has been an AGPAL accredited practice since 2001

Seka is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, with full GP vocational registration and also a recognised LMO by the Department of Veteran Affairs. He has special training and clinical as well as research interest in Asthma and Allergy. He speaks fluent Luganda and English.

After Hours Arrangements

For after hours care, this practice participates in the "Afterhours+GP' clinic rosters with other local GPs. Please call 1300 55 22 52 for an appointment. You will be seen by one of the doctors on roster at the UniHealth premises at the Medi-Link Retail centre near the Townsville Hospital between 6pm and 10pm Mondays to Fridays, 12pm to 10pm on Saturdays and 8am to 10pm on Sundays and Public Holidays. After 10pm, still ring 1300 55 22 52; you will be asked a series of questions and directed to the most appropriate service.

We are mixed billing practice. We bulk bill children below 16yrs, Student Card holders, Pension Card Holders and Healthcare Card Holders. Student cards, healthcare cards and pension cards must be produced at the time of visit or else private billing will apply.
