After Hours General Practice
The Townsville Division of General Practice has established an After Hours General Practice Clinic to provide a much-needed to service for Townsville patients outside of general practice normal hours.
The clinic has been set-up as a typical general practice with consulting rooms, treatment areas, reception area and is staffed when open with a Registered Nurse / Receptionist.
A Doctor is in attendance between:
- Monday-Friday 6pm — 10pm
- Saturday 12noon — 10pm
- Sundays & Public Holidays 8am — 10pm
After 10pm still ring 1300 552 252.
Callers between 10pm and 8am will be asked a series of questions and directed to the most appropriate service.
The After Hours GP service is a co-operative of local GPs caring for our community by providing access to urgent medical treatment outside of their normal General Practice hours.
This is a private billing service. Patients attending the After Hours Medical Clinic will be billed at the following rates:

- Medicare rebate varies depending the item number charged.
