Practice Mission Statement:

We strive to provide the best service we possibly can at all times, in a caring, friendly and welcoming environment. To maintain the highest standards in accreditation, and also information technology, with an ongoing commitment to further education and current therapies and techniques.

Surgery Background:

The Surgery is located on 403 Ross River Road, Cranbrook. Approximately 5 mins from Stockland Shopping Centre and 7 mins from the Willows Shopping Centre, both major shopping outlets in Townsville. Very conveniently located with the Townsville General Hospital only 10mins away, as are the Nursing Homes, and Private Hospitals / Pathology Labs and X-ray facilities.

The building itself is an "Older Queenslander" of approximately 70 years of age which has been completely restored in the tradition of period. Colours and furnishings were chosen carefully to provide a calm welcoming place for the patients and also staff who work here. We feel that we have been able to provide all of these objectives. In 2004 the surgery underwent major renovations, adding space to the waiting area, reception area and giving the Practice Manager a new office. The Builder managed to do the addition in the shame period and style as the original building; this has made working and visiting the surgery a very pleasant experience for all.

Equipment:

The Surgery is fully computerized and equipped with the following items: ECG monitor, Nebuliser, Doppler, Full Resuscitation Equipment, Cryotherapy, Top of the range sterilizing equipment including an ultrasonic cleaner and autoclave, Hydraulic procedure couch, Spirometry machine, Pulse oximeter and Dedicated Vaccine Fridge.

Services Provided:

Ante-Natal Share Care with the Townsville Hospital; Minor Surgery for Skin cancers; Immunisations: including childhood, adult and travel, travel advice. Home and nursing home visits, Family Medicine, Work related medicals, Preventative medicine, we use a recall system, Insurance medicals, ECGs, implants, Men's and Women's health, Annual check up's, diabetes Care, Asthma care etc.

Billing Procedures:

All patients are privately billed, with the exception of DVA and Nursing Home Patients only

Appointments

Our appointment system is designed that we only have one patient per appointment slot. For this reason we request that if you are unable to keep this appointment, you notify the practice at least 2 hours prior to the time. This enables us to give the appointment to someone else that may need an urgent appointment. We also advise that if appointments are broken or cancelled without adequate notice there will be a $40.00  fee charged to cover loss of time for the doctor. So in conclusion we ask that you be little early for your appointments, which enables us to keep on-time. But most Important please let us know if you are unable to keep an appointment.

Monday - Friday    6.00pm - 10.00pm
Saturday                12noon - 10.00pm
Sunday                   8.00am - 10.00pm
Public Holidays    8.00am - 10.00pm

After 10pm all days Phone: 1300 55 22 52 Triaged by QAS call centre. Patients will be put in contact with Doctor/Home visit will be arranged/ambulance will be dispatched, depending on circumstances.

Annual membership for AHGP is available at this surgery at a cost of $15.00 per year/per family. Membership entitles you to get $10 - $20 discount off you consultations at AHGP.

To enable us to provide you with the best possible service, we encourage your feedback. If you have a concern about the treatment you have received, or something you are concerned, please speak to Cheryl (Practice Manager) about it, or contact the Health Service Commission, a staff member will advise the address.
