Townsville City Council services the needs of 102,020 residents (2006 Census). The Council works in partnership with the local community to make the city a great place to live. The City of Thuringowa is one of Australia’s fastest growing cities. It has a population of 62,935 (2006 Census). Thuringowa offers diverse recreational, cultural and educational facilities Review the Thuringowa Council website to see the attractions of the area, the new innovations being developed and what events are happening throughout the year.

The Northern Beaches of Thuringowa are between 15 minutes and 40 minutes out of town. See the community web site.
