Overview Townsville General Practice Network (TGPN) aims to support GPs, practice managers, practice staff and other health professionals working with general practice. TGPN aims to improve the quality of care provided to patients by providing information and assistance on accreditation, Enhanced Primary Car (EPC) and the use of MBS item numbers, Practice incentive Payments (PIP), systems management, immunisation, specialised health areas and business management resources. TGPN assigns a Practice Liaison Officer (PLO) to each Practice in Townsville. The PLO is responsible for providing practice staff information pertaining to General Practice. The practice support program aims to support GPs, practice managers, practice staff and other health professionals working with general practice to improve the quality of care provided to patients. This is achieved through a variety of means including providing information and assistance on accreditation, Enhanced Primary Care and use of the MBS item numbers, PIP, systems management, immunisation, specialised health areas, business management services and resources. Staff can tailor visits to meet the specific needs of practices as they arise. TGPN have established a practice nurse network and a practice manager network meet 3 times a year.
